So, I am getting ready for my next project on my Z!

Mt TT is an auto, so I would like to install a tranny cooler for it. I understand the benefits of it , however, I am still unsure in regards to running the new cooler in series vs totally bypassing the stock rad/cooler.

According to the instructions that came with the cooler and some online forums, apparently, the best route is to run it in series. By doing so, the maximum cooled temperature should be reached as the rad will do the initial cooling followed by the secondary after market cooler.

Having said the above, I have also read that bypassing the cooler is highly recommended since it could be plugged , as such, the flow of fluid will be restricted and the tranny takes a summer holiday.

So, for you auto guys, did you bypass the oem cooler? or run it series? How long ago did you do the MOD? how is the tranny holding up? how many miles since the mod?

Its my total understanding that the mod is a MUST for the auto Z. It would be nice to see / read that the mod actually has helped our Z trannies to withstand the DD use.

What I am currently got planned is to install in series ( since my oem cooler is not plugged up ) then also add an in-line tranny filter ( magnefine , which has a lot of rave reviews ) and go from there.

what do you guys think?
